Electronic Texts for Biblical Studies

This section will highlight some of the electronic texts available for different software programs (or as stand-alone programs), including major commentary packages, theological dictionaries, and lexicons.

For software for learning Biblical Hebrew, see the Software section of my Biblical Hebrew General Resource page. In addition, I note some discipline-specific software in the Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint sections of this site.

Biblical Commentaries

Good biblical commentaries are an indispensable resource for those preaching and teaching the Bible. Having commentaries integrated into your biblical studies software makes them all the more accessible. Most of the major commentary series are available as electronic texts

Bible Dictionaries
There are a number of one-volume Bible dictionaries available in bundles with different software programs. Most larger multi-volume dictionaries are stand-alone purchases.

Theological Wordbooks
The search capabilities of software programs make the standard theological wordbooks more accessible than ever. Most of the major works are available in electronic format.
