		<description><![CDATA[I must admit that it has been tough getting used to saying &quot;soccer&quot; here in the American context.  Part of me wants to be stubborn and insist on &quot;football&quot; here, which is -- after all -- the international name.  But then people just assume that you are talking about American Football, so that won&#039;t do.  But  the &quot;soc&quot; in &quot;soccer&quot; comes from &quot;Association Football&quot; which is the proper name for the sport, and it has a good pedigree.   
The context one occasionally hears &quot;soccer&quot; in in the UK is where rugby fans who don&#039;t like football like to say &quot;soccer&quot; to distinguish it from rugby football.]]></description>
