There are a number of one-volume Bible dictionaries available in bundles with different software programs. Most larger multi-volume dictionaries are stand-alone purchases.

BHSThe Anchor Bible Dictionary on CD-ROM (Doubleday, 1992).

This is the standard multivolume dictionary of the Bible. It is the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and authoritative reference work in the field. The CD-ROM includes the full 6 volume work with over 6,000 entries as well as tables, charts and diagrams, photographs and illustrations. An essential to use, if not to own.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (ISBE) CD-ROM (Revised version; Eerdmans, 1979, 1995).

This is the most up-to-date multi-volume Bible encyclopedia written by conservative scholars. It's characterized by careful and contemporary scholarship and a wealth of illustrations. An excellent resource. (N.B. This is not the public domain 1915 edition of ISBE that comes free with many Bible software programs).

BHSThe Essential IVP Reference Collection 2.0 on CD-ROM (InterVarsity Press, 2003).

This resource includes IVP's New Testament dictionary series (Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels, Dictionary of Paul and His Letters, Dictionary of the Later New Testament and Its Developments, Dictionary of New Testament Background), the Bible background commentaries (IVP Bible Background Commentary: Old Testament, IVP Bible Background Commentary: New Testament), and the New Bible Dictionary and New Bible Commentary, and more. A good solidly evangelical resource for students, pastors, teachers, as well as scholars.

BHSiLumina 2.0 Gold: Interactive Bible & Encyclopedia (Tyndale House, 2003).

This is an interesting product -- part dictionary/commentary with 5,000 dictionary entries, 10,000 articles, and 20,000 commentary notes, and part multimedia resource with computer animated Bible stories and more than 800 images, 200 interactive maps, tours of biblical lands, and more. A good resource for students, pastors, and teachers. Conservative evangelical in perspective.
