Micah
OT Commentary Survey - Minor Prophets

There are quite a few excellent critical commentaries on the book of Micah: Mays, Hillers, Smith, and Wollf are all worth consulting (though Smith is hampered due to space constrictions), while Andersen and Freedman's massive tome is can be mined for many treasures, as can McKane's excellent volume. Ben Zvi's FOTL volume is worth taking a look at, though he departs from traditional form criticism when he identifies most of the book as a "prophetic reading." Pastors will once again benefit from close readings of Achtemeier, Alfaro (who offers a provocative third-world reading), Allen, Limburg, and Sweeney. Pastors and lay people will also find much of value in Waltke's work in both his Tyndale and McComiskey edited volume (albeit somewhat conservative).
