Ezra / Nehemiah
OT Commentary Survey - Historical Books

The books of Ezra and Nehemiah form a single book in the Hebrew Bible. The division into two books began in the middle ages. Williamson's commentary on Ezra-Nehemiah is masterful, while scholars will also want to make use of Blenkinsopp's excellent volume. Fensham is an excellent resource for pastors, as is Throntveit, Breneman (especially for more conservative readers), and Davies. On the more popular side, Allen's work is excellent and Kidner is solid as always.
