The author of Arutz Sheva article the is guilty of the same sin he is accusing Zohar misrepresenting halocha for the sake of prommoting a particular public policy.
Zohar is correct that pilegesh relationship is permited by majority opinion to anyone not only a king and it’s not necesarily a lifetime relationship.

Tzvi Zohar's article came out in the Spring and I am a bit surprised that the author just wrote about it now. It is a serious article with serious responses published in the same journal volume. The author of the Arutz Sheva article doesn't take Zohar seriously and therefore doesn't respond seriously. I also don't think that Tzvi Zohar needs any defending as an expert on modern Halakhah, something which for the author can't exist without the person also being an Orthodox Rabbi to his liking. I blogged a bit about it when it came out here.
